Diamond Shape

The shape of a diamond is the pattern when viewed from the top. "Shape" is often confused with "cut", which describes the diamond when viewed from its side.

Choosing a shape is simply a matter of preference. Common diamond shapes include round (sometimes called round-brilliant), princess, pear, oval, cushion, marquis, emerald, radiant or heart.
